Looking for some summer reading?! We’ve got just the thing for you: The anthology Hochschulentwicklung der Zukunft (University Development of the Future), edited by Prof. Dr. Ullrich Dittler and Prof. Dr. Christian Kreidl, has been published. It includes an essay by CCE staff member Alessandra Kenner on the use of teaching analysis polls in higher education.
TAPs are qualitative midterm evaluations and, unlike summative—and typically quantitative—evaluations conducted at the end of the semester, offer significant advantages: students and faculty engage in dialogue about effective teaching and learning conditions; student feedback can be implemented during the current semester; and support from instructional designers sharpens the focus on teaching and, where necessary, facilitates instructional interventions.
The anthology also offers interesting insights into the topics of teaching, exams, and quality management, as well as many compelling contributions—including ones from FAU by Prof. Dr. Nicole Kimmelmann, Stefan Probst, and Prof. Dr. Dirk Riehle, who contributed the essay “To Bot or Not to Bot—Potential and Limitations of AI-Powered Learning Assistants in Higher Education.”
