AI Competency Video Series for Educators – New Interviews Now Online!

The two video series “KIKomp – Meet the Experts” and “KIKomp – Good Practice” are continuously being expanded. Since the last newsletter edition in October 2025, additional video interviews have been published. They highlight the wide range of ways AI can be used in higher education and the key competencies that instructors and students need in order to engage with it effectively.

KIKomp – meet the Experts: Opportunities, Challenges, and Ethical Questions in Using AI in Teaching

In this series, experts discuss fundamental questions related to AI, including legal frameworks, ethical challenges, and the role of data and media literacy.

Newly released:

With this contribution, the series expands its range of topics to include the media education classification of generative language models, their didactic integration into university teaching and teacher training, and critical reflection on their limitations, misconceptions, and social impact.

KIKomp – Good Practice: Neue Lehr- und Lernwege in Zeiten von KI

The Good Practice series illustrates how AI can practically transform teaching and learning processes — from developing learning materials to providing feedback and designing innovative assessment formats.


Newly released:

This scenario shows how AI supports teachers in a variety of tasks: from transcription and preparation of teaching materials to code and slide creation.

Further video interviews on the topic of “AI in teaching” will be published at the beginning of each month.

The video series continues to grow and regularly provides new insights into the opportunities and challenges of AI-supported higher education.
